This simple little slanting style Common hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna) is actually very reminiscent of the species as it occurs in field situations throughout our landscape.
It is just about shohin in size at 22cm. high. At the base the trunk measures 2.5cm. across. The branch spread is 23cm. That slanting trunk features a, created shari, deadwood feature which helps with the illusion of age. Certainly many more branches are required within the silhouette to complete the image but that is a simple grow and prune exercise which can be easily accomplished with this hardy native species that grows well throughout the UK. The container is a plastic bonsai training pot that measures 20x14x6cm.
