It is my sad duty to report that earlier today Penelope Axon lost her short lived fight against cancer. Penny, as we all knew her, was a true Willowbogger, supporting many of the workshops here at the nursery.
Here she is working away on a pine bonsai.
Penny had been doing bonsai for a lot of years before starting to attend our workshops but would admit that it was only then that she started to be a bit more serious with the hobby.
Penny was always keen to learn and took the chance to work with the likes of Peter Warren and, of course, Caz who leads most of our monthly workshops now.
In this image Penny seemed to be listening with what I had to say about one of her Larch, Caz watches on to make sure that I don’t say anything stupid !
Penny Axon, she will be a loss to the Willowbog bonsai scene and will be sorely missed.
Penny will be sadly missed by all at Willowbog she was a lovely lady
she will indeed Paul
