About a dozen enthusiasts from across the region joined us here yesterday at Willowbog Bonsai for the first Bonsai Chat of the new year.

The studio tokonoma display for the day.

The feature tree was this nicely developed Common hawthorn that we recently purchased back in a part exchange deal for another bonsai.

The ceramic Long tailed titmouse from The Proprietor’s pottery collection appears here quite often.

Also from that collection is this ceramic ball sculpture.

It was all Willowbog regulars participating in our monthly community day yesterday.  Here Antony looks over Peter’s should at The G-man’s Scots pine, clearly he was about to go and replenish their coffee cups.

A pause with his now full coffee cup before continuing with wiring this tree.

And Antony gets back to the same job on his Scotty.

John H was the only other one to be busy working on trees yesterday.

Others got on with the ‘ Chatting ‘ part of the day.

The whole point of the day is that those who participate use the time just however they wish, some working and some just talking to other enthusiasts, not always about bonsai of course ! Not so many pictures of the day, Scott wasn’t with us and I am getting a bit forgetful ! Why not join us next month on the first ?
