Japanese white pine
A typical imported example of this species, the Japanese white pine, Pinus parviflora. Also typical that it is grafted onto Black pine root stock to give the tree extra strenght and a craggy bark base to the trunk that is 6 cm. in diam. across. The tree is 35cm. high and is planted in a good quality Chinese, unglazed, ceramic pot. Needing more twigs and probably wiring to be able to form a convincing shape, this represents a good project, particularly suitable for someone wanting their first Japanese origin pine bonsai. Nice and healthy as the colour shows.
