This is a very high-quality specimen Tsuga sieboldii, also called the Southern Japanese Hemlock (a conifer native to the Japanese islands of Honshū, Kyūshū, Shikoku and Yakushima). Tsuga bonsai are very rare and this unique bonsai has fantastic mature flaky bark, refined branches and tight, compact foliage.
The bonsai features outstanding natural deadwood, which makes this tree a very special one-off bonsai fit for any exhibition. The tree is well established in a handmade crescent pot.
Tsuga sieboldii grow well in the UK climate - they should be protected from frost and freezing winds when potted as bonsai.
This specimen will make a fantastic addition to any bonsai enthusiast's collection.
