And so we ” Chat ” on.

Posted by & filed under Willowbog Bonsai News.

Our first Bonsai Chat of the autumn ?  certainly a few days in the past week have had a distinctly autumnal feel about them but Saturday itself was pretty warm, if not very sunny, in fact quite humid at times. Len and Billy enjoying the convivial atmosphere of Willowbog Bonsai’s refreshment room. Not sunny enough… Read more »

October opiate

Posted by & filed under Willowbog Bonsai News.

Yesterday, Saturday 21st, seven regulars got their monthly fix of bonsai here at Willowbog Bonsai. There are regulars, and then there are very regulars. In this photo a very regular, Antony, talks to workshop assistant Caz, I assume it was about bonsai. On the table in front of them is Antony’s Ryan Neil styled Western… Read more »

This Pinus parviflora, slightly out of the ordinary in that the tree is not grafted on to… Read more »

As rare as hen’s teeth ?

Posted by & filed under Willowbog Bonsai News.

The title of this post is almost certainly the sort of gross exaggeration that sometimes appears on these blog pages, sorry ! Nevertheless, this mature Juniperus communis, Common juniper, represents a bonsai species that could not be said to be commonly seen. The species, justly in my view, has a reputation for being difficult, that… Read more »
