Marco Bonsai School @ Willowbog:
Second Session
The second session of the Marco Invernizzi Bonsai School @ Willowbog Bonsai in Septmeber 2006 was a great success again - below are images from the 2 day session plus comments from some of the students at the school.
"With the second meeting of the Willowbog Bonsai School with Marco Invernizzi, it seems we have now really got ourselves into our stride and the group is bonding well. The combination of formal lectures, open forum discussion groups on styling, and advice for further refinement for trees worked on at home since the last session, now means that the learning process is going on all the year round and not just the 6 days when the school convenes."
Mike from Derby
"As probably the least experienced member of the cast (hey don’t knock it) at least I have an excuse for getting things wrong! I wondered if my lack of anything other than a basic grasp of Bonsai techniques would be a problem. Far from it, maybe I am just at the ‘sponge’ stage where every thing is there to be soaked up or maybe approaching things from a very first principles start point is actually advantageous. Whichever is the case, I have to say that Marco has gone out of his way to make sure that I am treated with equal respect and his teaching has given me a colossal increase in understanding and practical ability in a very short space of time. I’ve always maintained that any activity involves a lot of confidence and that is what Marco inspires in everybody. And even he admitted that no –one did the incredible spoon and fork balancing trick better than I did! (Inside joke I am sure Fiona will show you if you ask her) "

What does Fiona think? |
"My two penny worth; The School is, for me, is that piece of the Jigsaw, that has been missing for a long time on my journey with Bonsai. The in depth discussion, lectures and hands on approach has been very well pitched by Marco considering the different levels of knowledge in his students.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the first two sessions (homework and all) and look forward to the future of the school."
